Beginner City Challenge

The Beginner challenge introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics and coding. Teams focus on basic movement, simple sequencing, and understanding how their robot interacts with the city field. These challenges emphasize confidence-building, safe navigation, and learning how to complete a clearly defined city objective. 

Intermediate City Challenge

The Intermediate challenge requires students to plan routes, refine accuracy, and begin organizing their code using loops and simple functions. Teams are challenged to make intentional decisions, adjust timing and speed, and respond to multiple city requirements. 

Advanced City Challenge

The Advanced challenge pushes students to think strategically and integrate multiple city systems. Teams combine coding logic, engineering builds, and problem-solving to complete multi-step city objectives. Challenges may include increased field complexity, coordination between robots, or time-based scenarios. 

Expert City Challenge

The Expert challenge  simulates real-world complexity found in modern cities. Students manage variables, conditionals, and system dependencies while adapting to changing conditions. These challenges require strong planning, efficient execution, and clear explanations of both coding and engineering decisions. 

Mystery City Challenge

The Mystery City Challenge invites the experienced student to integrate all prior skills. Teams demonstrate advanced problem-solving, creativity, and innovation while managing complex, open-ended city scenarios. Success is measured by intentional design, logical reasoning, and the ability to justify decisions rather than speed alone.
