STEM It Up Sports offers plenty of opportunities to volunteer! We hold Regional and State tournaments for the Sphero Global Challenge and are always in need of volunteers to help us provide the best programming possible to our participants. OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

STEM It Up Sport offers part time internship opportunities to college aged individuals to help them gain professional experience. Our project-based internship program allows interns to build various projects to ensure the growth of the company. The practicum experience obtained within this internship will add value to future employment. 

Interns will engage with Dr. Tonjia Grimble, CEO & Founder of STEM It Up Sports and leader in the community affiliated with organizations such as UNTD, Dallas College, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Girls Inc. of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Kids, YMCA of Fort Worth, Fieldhouse USA, and more. 

 

POSITIONS OFFERED

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Primary focus is to develop various projects for programming which would include training presentations, orientation presentations, video content for various programming, research, written communications for internal and external usage, development of assessment and evaluation tools and more. Intern will need skills with Power Point, Apple Software, and data collection.

 

STEM EDUCATION

Primary focus/project is to engage youth in technology and computer science. Interns will teach students basic coding with a standard curriculum, develop character development instruction, and help with Sphero Computer Science competitions. 

 

EVENT COORDINATOR

Primary focus is to manage and coordinate Sphero Competitions for the Fall and Spring 2023-24 school year. Intern will work with various vendors, stakeholders, partners, and school districts to ensure tournaments are properly executed. Interns will also be responsible for media management and recruitment for all events.

 

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

 

ROBOTICS INSTRUCTOR

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule: 4-hour shift

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Work Location: STEAM Center, On the road

We're looking for an inspiring and dynamic individual to join our team as an instructor. The successful applicant will be engaging youth students in robotic instruction through the implementation of innovative and effective teaching strategies. We are interested in hiring instructors who are comfortable interacting with a diverse student population and providing a hands-on, practical experience for afterschool programming. The job will introduce block coding for all age levels. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design/implement lesson plans that correlate with curriculum guidelines.

  • Prepare, present, and evaluate lessons, demonstrations, and exercises.

  • Maintain classroom discipline.

  • Maintain course materials and equipment.

  • Teach various subjects.

 

Regional Coordinator

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $15.00 -$25.00 an hour (salaried)

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Education: Associate or Bachelors (Preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid with some travel and weekend activities

STEM It Up Sports is seeking team members to work as a Sphero Competition Regional Coordinator! This position will be an integral part of our Sphero Global Challenge team and will be responsible for organizing and coordinating regional, state, and world tournaments, generating, and cultivating relationships with teachers, district officials, partners, stakeholders, and vendors in different locations local/national/international, and representing the company in various city centers.

 

Responsibilities:​

  • Recruit teams in various coastal regions for competition registration
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and educators 
  • Planning event details and aspects, including scheduling, dining, and attendees.

  • Creating reliable communication channels with educators

  • Creating communications strategies

  • Maintain competition registration portal and communicate updates to educators

  • Remaining under budget with all costs

  • Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise.

  • Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the competitions and the complexity of the events.

  • Ability to work with stakeholders appropriately

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Possess a degree of skill in logistics to properly plan the details and anticipate potential problems that may arise.
